Well I did write a long blog the other day which all got wiped off when I tried to spell check - so annoying!! Anyway i cannot be bothered going into as much detail about the past days as I did with that one so anyway it's been a while. Last week Friday was just a mega mega house party at this 12bed house looking right over the sea - they hired out these mega huge orange speakers that reached the floor and had DJ's coming out of the cracks in the holes to play some drum and bass. Anyway was supa packed - really thought someone was going to make the front page of the local paper by being squashed to death. Anyway ended up in having to help Mery who had squashed her leg all the way home. The next day at bout 11:00 Matt asked if I wanted to go for a drive to get some air - thought that would be good - went to some place called Manwan with a crazy out of the way church and loads of fields etc.....leading down to the sea. Had to slide down this huge muddy bank then you get to this reall steep part where they have ropes so you can climb down this rocky part to the ocean - it was really beautiful - so I just lay in the sun on the rocks as a weird chinese style boat and 2 canoes floated past. The difficult part was trying to get back up with a huge cliff facing downwards and all you have on are slippy shoes and mossy rocks to cling onto - so the shoes had to come off, as my feet offered better grip. Anyway Sunday was a chill, ohh no wait I had to sit at the train station and wait 2hrs for a train -but it's fine cos it's cornwall and they run on there own time - anyway went to truro for a coffee and look around - then to the beach Cafe for a curry and listen to some open mic tunes. Then off to a busy week of work - darkroom, tutorials, work and watching movies - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance has to be the best western I have seen and I just love the movie almost famous.
So today went for a surf - was ok. Went into the Uni Libary and just got back from Jacobs Ladder after listening to some jazz.
Hmmmmmm...............................................what am I looking for - I'm not sure, but I'm lost?????
Where do I come from - I'm not sure anymore - been watching films about the aparteid.......we where terrible.......people are terriable. Whilst I was at school getting an education people where fighting for there rights in the townships - photographers where dying out in the hidden wars of South Africa - this was happening up till I was 14/15yrs old - how did I not know. Why did I feel like it wasn't relevant to me.......I don't know if I'm South African because I don't know if I can deal with the guilt that comes with that - when you think of the truth of it all, but I dont want to be british either - they just sat and watched.
It's suched a messed up place - but so beautiful

This Weekend
Okay so since Saturday I have been in Cardiff/London. I came up on Saturday left morning -left at 11:00 arrived in Cardiff at 5:00pm - so long trip - also arrived in Cardiff on the day of a rugby match - madness. On Sunday I went up to Aberdare skatepark - they have just built it and it is sweet - super smooth and fast bowls!!! Then it was Sunday roast with the Fam - My Mother, my Nan and me - really good food - Moms make the best food!!!! On Monday we left to go to London at 8:00am - we had to take the train from Treforest to Cardiff and they where short of 2 carriages - we where like sardines on this train, but once we got to Cardiff is was fast and smooth all the way to Paddington. From there we went straight to Canada Water tube and to the Cafe Gallery - where I handed in 3 of my photo's for the Open exhibition which runs from the 19th Nov till the 10th Dec - so if anyone wants to go and check em out email me and I will give u the details. Thats wa all smooth - but when we got back to Canada Water the tube we need was suffering for delays so we took a different line to Whitechaple - then got stuck there for 30min then finally made it to Barbican - to got to a gallery there to see an exhibition about European photographers. By this point we where starving and had a meal at the gallery. The exhibition was ok but not as good at the Twilight one I had seen a few weeks back. After that we decided to head back to Victoria to avoid rush hour. We had a nice coffee and muffin, read a newspaper and watched people as they walked by. Then made our way back to Cardiff - ohh by the way my Mother came with me - thats what I mean by us.
Today was also another busy day - we went to the DVLA to sort out my drivers license as I need to get a new one, then off to Cardiff for some shopping got a new hat from H&M and a really cool jacket. Bought some food and that and had a chill night at home with the Mom.
Then i am off to Falmouth

Parties and People
Well well - it's been so busy - once again. So lets see it's been a while since I wrote - ahh yes Halloween on Tuesday the 31st - I wasn't really going to go out but decided to pop down to the Cutty Sark for a quick one - was just going to go as a punk - which not hard I have the clothes - but my flatmate who works for the circus managed to persuade me to wear a white cat suits - which I pimped up with a gold chain and devil horns. It was a good night but ruined by the fact that I was coming down with a cold - boohoo. Anyway on Friday the 3rd it was the dealine for my first major project - I did a 6 image sequence story - titled "Cat and Mouse" - conceptual stuff. anyway on that friday we went out for a big one - first a drink at four degrees west - very nice 20-something bar. Then off 2 Watermans - everyone and I mean everyone was out - so it was a really cool vibe. can't remember when we left but it was quite late - but had one last drink at Finn McCools before walking back home - wherer Oli made some super yummy toasted Tea Cakes - They saved my life!!!
Saturday was skate day - Ben,Alan,James and I piled into a car in search of the penzance bowls - on the way we broked into the unfinished Helson skatepark but got kicked out shortly after - although in the car park we spoke to some other skaters who told us to rather go to Hayle - although we did not have a mpa we decided to just try and find it - and of course got lost - in a place called Poo. But we did stumble onto a pretty cool ark in Camborne and had a good sesh anyway. On the Sunday Matt,Louie,Merri,Oli and I took a drive to st Ives - which is really beautiful but must be heaving in summer with tourists - we went to a pub - think it was called The sloopy for a meal and drink - right near the harbour. Had a walk through town - buying a sweeping brush on the way and getting to the beach on the otherside of town - played beach tennis and Louie the mad man decided to swim. We then spent a couple of bob in the arcades - for some reason I am quite good at car games. Then tried to find a good pasty shop - I settled for a gingerbread man. Then on monday we decided to try somewhere new - it was 2 cocktails for £5 at The shed so we decided to go there - which was really nice - they feed us free pizza and chips!!!! and the staff are really friendly - I think I had a Long Island and a Elvis Las Vegas - anyway it was fun. On wednesday it was Petes birthday - he had organised for a get together at blue in town - some of us ate - I had a honey glazed chicken breast with veg - very nice - I think it's the first time I ad ate out since I have been in falmouth. Anyway loads of people came out - Merri thought her bag had been stolen but in fact Rhian had it - Pete had a dirty pint and was pretty sloshed - but it wa his 21st so it's to be expected. We then made our way to Toast - a hip little bar - reminds me of this place in cape down.
Thursday was a early start - SURFING!!!!! Hadn't been in ages - it was so good - even though the surf was really small I had a really good sesh Had some lunch and that - then decided to mission to Truro as I hadn't really been there yet - and it is a city after all and only 20min on the train - it's cute and small but bigger than Falmout - some good bars and shops.
Friday was fill of working - had to get myessay done because i was not going to be back in time for Wednesday - going to London & cardiff yeehaa - 2 see my mother and to hand in 3 prints into the Cafe Gallery for there open exhibtion. Anyway on friday 3 car load's of us decided it would be a good idea to go and watch Borat in Truro - but all the seats wher sold out - so we went to M-I bar for a quick drink. Then went back home and watched some peepshow and had a quite night in.

London and all that Jazz
London was fast and furious as always - trying to get loads done but never enough time. Anyway after a long 8hr journey there, met up with Matt in the Photography Gallery bookshop - then had some coffee int he little shop inside the gallery. London was busy cos of the Anit-top up fee's march and they always decide to do maintence on Sundays - anyway had to get to HighGate to see my Uncle Hugh cus I was staying with him and need to get a key - had a nice chat with him, hadn't seem him in ages. - anyway the tube to highgate was down so had to get out at Camden and get a bus - making a quick journey a longone. Matt stayed in the centre and I met up with him and 2 friends later in Ronnie Scotts. Ronnie Scotts has been refurnished and is looking poser than ever. The jazz gig was amazing - Hiromi, a small japanese girl was just going mad on the piano - as we sipped on our red wine - had the most amazing meal there aswell - but it all went to fast and next thing u know it's finished - had a chat to the dummer and bass player - very nice people - the drummers from Slovakia.
After that we landed up in the Walkabout watching South Africa playing rugby but left before the end - hope we beat the Kiwis.
Then I found myself in subways sandwich bar - Matt being slightly drunk told them to make the best sandwich ever and put everything on - and it came to nearly £7 which for subways is alot.
But we got the night bus and made it back in one piece.
Had a good sleep - got up had some toast and porrige and made out way to South Kensington - freaking people out on the undergroup and we tried to take pictures in the most unthreatning way. Went to the V&A to look at the Twilight exhibition - which was really good - got some inspiration for some of my own work.
I walked around going up to strangers and asking if I could take a picture of them - they all said yes!! Then back to Paddington - bought a ticket ot stroud - had a big sandwich - boarded the train - next minute I'm in stroud -w alking up a big hill on the way to Matts house - which is really cool - as there neightbours are literally cows.
We had a quick snack - then waited till Merry and Ollie arrived - got the car ready then made I way off at about 7pm to Falmouth - the first half to exter was quick - had a coffee at the services then off again - about an hour and half down the road we realised we where completly out of petrol - luckly about 10min away was a services that was meant to close at 8pm but had luckly been kept open till 10pm - we where the last customers as it closed - very funny though - we would off been stuck. So we made it back at about 11:30 - long weekend I would say.
Anyway gotta go
