Is it not great when you put something away and then you find it again - like this photo I completly forgot about it and only found it the other day - I never likd it before but now I do....which is nice.

times a changing

Well time does go by quickly. Last year I was in South Africa, now I'm in Treforest (Wales) was in Edinburgh, will be going to Falmouth hmmmm.............anyway people also come and go.
My friend Rob from South Africa has been over here since September and due to work/college/life have been able to see him - he's going back tomorrow, so big up to him.
The pictures above are Rob and I in the shop we use to work in called Rust (kick-ass skate store) - me wearing a ridicously red hat. The other picture was taken by Rob quite a while ago - me skating in Keurboom Park. Actually went for a skate today whilst the ground was dry.
Anyway off tomorrow (well actually today, since it's 01:30am while I write this on Thursday) to go to Guilfest - in guess where - Guildford. Going to see me some bands - yeehaa

R.I.P Syd Barret

It's always a very sad thing to hear of a death of legend - and what legend Syd Barret was.
A founding member of Pink Floyd (1965-1972) and solo artist in his own right, died today of complications to type 2 diabetics aged 60.
Although he had been living in seclusion for quite a longtime after suffering mental illness, due to a brilliant mind destroyed by drugs and rock star over indulgence.

busy weekend

Well Well Well, days do go by quickly when your busy. On Thursday I met up with some friends from college and it was like a school reunion - it's always a pleasant but strange situation when you see people you have not seen in ages and they have changed (not in bad ways though) , like one is abit rounder and the other abit of a hippy but the one seems still the same. Anyway went for some drinks at Raffles (nice roof top terrace) played some pool at The Forest and watched some pretty terrible bands at Toms - but as a South African would say a real Lekker day.
So got up a little late on Friday, road into Pontypridd, had my photo's developed for major rip-off prices say hi to a few people, had a nice walk/ride.
Had to get up super early on Saturday morning because my Mother and I where driving down to Cornwall - Falmouth to sort out my accommodation for Uni in Sept, we woke up at 5:00am, left the house just past 6:00. It takes about 4hrs to get there (but my mother does drive like a granny), we had a few coffee stops and got caught in traffic but got there eventually. Went to the Uni to accommodation fair, looked at some places and some where rip-offs and rubbish, but found this one house - really good vibe, 5 min away from Town and from the Uni and good price too, there where a few people interested but the picked me (because I'm so nice, lol), which is such a relief as now I know I have somewhere to live.
On the way back we went to my cousins pub in this tiny weeny pub in Middlezoy (Middle of nowhere) in Somerset - my Aunt and Uncle are out from South Africa so it was nice to see them and have a chat, and some cider. Anyway got back home later than expect but it wa all good.
Today I did a major re-haul of my stuff and chucked some things out then went to play tennis with my brother at the local park. My brother Bryn teaches tennis which is handy - but we have both been playing since we where young, ohh and been watching Wimbeldon all week on the telly. Anyway that about it for now.

Photo's in a magazine

Well this week so far since getting back from the festival has been a chill week - been unpacking all my stuff and moving back into my old room, just walking around Ponty and realising that theres not much to do in this town.
But I did buy a bicycle yesterday - and I forgot how much fun push-bikes can be - and so eco friendly too.......bikes rock!!!
Another exciting thing is that Instant Magazine has run a whole page of my photo's - and can be seen at http://www.instantmagazine.co.uk/pdf/INSTANTJULAUG06FORWEB1.pdf
and page down - very happy about that.
Was going to go camping at Tenby this week, but the weather has been working against me on that one - although the festival weekend was great sunny warm weather.
Maybe I will get the chance next week, who knows?

Festival love......

Well I got to Llanfyllin and back in one piece despite it involving 4 train trips, 4 bus trips and 2 car lifts - but all was good.
My brother came with me on this adventure, as we made our way up from Pontypridd to Welshpool, where we stopped over for about 2 and half hours - very clean and pretty little town, great warm day, sat outside on of the very old and local pubs and had some good ol' welsh cider.
We had to take this local bus to Llanfyllin - which is deeper into Mid-Wales, as Welshpool is quite near the English boarder - we boarded this tiny little bus with this really old driver - he must of been about 75yrs old, it was like going back in time - it really was, stopping at this little stops - with nothing around except fields, farms, cows and sheep. Really relaxing though - the air was so clean. Anyway we arrive at the venue - reported into the Stewards office - as we where working at the festival - got our cards and shifts - only had to work two 4hr shifts so that was not bad at all. Set up the tent in the "Quiet Area". Everytime I camp I learn something new - what I learnt this time - ALWAYS CAMP IN THE SHADE!!!!!!
This weekend was a boiler - and man did I get a tan - yeehaa. Anyway loads of cool people and hippies and mega kitted out camper vans and weird vans - just loved it. No showers - and in a way it's quite liberating not to shower everyday, everyone else is in the same boat anyway.
Me and my brother did however find a local indoor swimming pool and on Saturday morning had a nice and relaxing dip. Llanfyllin it self is so beautiful - I would love to go back and people seemed quite friendly - although it must be quite a shock for them having 5000 people descend on there little village. Anyway lots of cool tents and entertainment - a vegan cafe, loads of bars, fire displays, stalls, comedy acts..... The bands that really stood out for me over the weekend where - Plastic Passion (Really good - go see em if you can), The Eaves, The Kevs, Loman, Rhythm Thieves (Crazy), Shooglenify, Freestyler MC's and a guy called Simon Ark (He had the most beautiful 70's voice ever).
Other bands that where alright where The Icons, Big Bunda, The Rrrr's, Polarian, The J B Quintet, What the Moon is Like, Bitch Pups
and bands that I did not really dig (thought they where abit rubbish actually) where Tokyo Dawns, Downdriver, Vile Bodies, Gundogs and No digrace.
Anyway met some cool people, had some good hearty veggie meals, learnt some new tricks (poki twirling) and talked to complete strangers - yeehaa. To not say there wa not alittle friction between me and my borther would be a lie but it's all good now and the tent rocks, and I dig camping. So yeehaa to summer and being free...............
